A key part of AIESEC Life's vision is to connect more than 10,000 alumni with each other by 2012. Expanding our alumni network is essential to reach the full potential of our alumni community. It is the necessary foundation of our mission, to enable AIESEC alumni to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other, and to support AIESEC's growth. Today, AIESEC Life has connected with over 6,000 alumni through our monthly newsletter. However, there are more alumni records containing an additional 10,000 alumni names without current contact information.
This is stifling our potential, both to help AIESEC and foster meaningful alumni connections. For example, if an LC in Ohio asks for help to reach out to alumni in their area, the available records are sorely incomplete. AIESEC Life also would like to better connect with alumni whose LCs are no longer active or who live in an area without a current LC. Plus, much more could be done to connect alumni with each other for professional development (industry-specific, peer and mentoring, entrepreneurship) and cultural understanding (global contacts). However before these efforts can truly thrive, the missing information and lost alumni must be found.
To connect 10,000 alumni, your involvement is needed. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to sponsor an intern for 6-9 months for this project to start in July 2010. This is not enough by itself, but AIESEC Life is thrilled to announce that to help with this 10k Challenge, alumni Jerry Allison (Northern Illinois), Jeff Popiel (Colorado), and Candice Bataille Popiel (Venezuela) will match every dollar to double your donation! Thank you to Jerry, Jeff, and Candice for giving this match! So please take them up on their offer and help reach our goal!
In appreciation of your support, AIESEC Life will apply equal value toward annual membership for all alumni who donate $20 or more to the 10k Challenge. If you would like more information about the 10k Challenge, contact AIESEC Life for details.
