And the Search Goes On!

By Kathleen Corrigan Dalglish (Boston ’81, US ’82)

Beginning this month, AIESEC Life would like to dedicate a portion of each monthly newsletter to finding lost alumni.  Let’s commence with some AIESEC memorabilia found in my possession and affectionately known as the 1983 MEN OF AIESEC Calendar.  Many alumni may recall this fun tradition where some of AIESEC US’ most eligible and endearing bachelors of the era were featured.

This month we are starting our search with none other than Mr. January himself, Gary Rust.  Gary hailed originally from AIESEC Washington in St. Louis, circa 1978-82.  Gary is fondly remembered for his creative and motivational conference presentations.  What’s more, the enterprising young women behind the calendar from AIESEC Michigan State, Annette Folan and Amy BattagliaKristin Lidke, Debbie Bass, Susan Cole and Peri Schiff are also missing from our database!  If you are in touch with any of these alumni, please pass on this link: www.aieseclife.org/register.

It may be of interest for our readers from AIESEC Michigan State to know we have only four of your alumni listed in our database!   If you know Michigan State alumni, pass them this link (www.aieseclife.org/register) and help us grow the alumni database.

And, while Michigan State is not yet well represented, AIESEC Michigan alums are well-represented in the database with 118 alumni.  Way to go, Blue!  There are still a few more alums from Michigan however, that I’m sure are not yet in our database.  AIESEC Michigan has been a consistent powerhouse within the AIESEC US Local Committees, producing presidents such as Ken Phillips, Russ Gerson, Scott Fulton, Jeremy Findley, Sarah Endline, Michael Remyn and Matthew Neagle (in Panama).   We know that 118 alums is but the tip of the iceberg, so we encourage all Michigan alums who have not completed our survey to do so!  Pass it on!  www.aieseclife.org/register

  1. Amazing. I forgot all about the calendar. Nice to be remembered. Thanks Kathleen for reaching out. You can imagine my surprise to see my photo and blurb, taking me back to our “motivational” workshops and ambitious youth. Good to read about and see the names of people respected and their continued success. After a stint in Japanese publishing, living in Japan for 12 years (following my AIESEC internship in Osaka), I now manage a family owned group of daily newspapers in eight states with my two brothers. Life brought me back to St. Louis with my wife Suzuyo and two children. Until we raise the next glass of aqua vit (or Frangelica), best to all. Gary

    • Hi Gary,

Glad to see your response. Yes the calendar has stayed with me all these years. When I flipped open, you were January, memories of those outstanding presentations still vivid. We’ll have to have you come and speak at an AIESEC event and you can explain how it was all done without computers… All the best Kathleen
