As AIESEC Life GROWS, so does Our Shosholoza Forest in Colombia!
The AIESEC Life Study Tour to Colombia is just weeks away, and we're excited to explore its beautiful landscapes while giving back through PlanT, a reforestation initiative founded by AIESECer Gabriela Alvarez.
About PlanT
PlanT combats global warming by planting trees for ecological restoration, watershed protection, and carbon footprint offsetting. It also supports smallholder families through sustainable practices and income diversification, offering economic benefits for their efforts to restore and preserve nature.
AIESEC Life’s Contribution
In 2019, AIESEC Life createdthe Shosholoza Forest in Colombia, located in Hacienda La Tentación and Hacienda El Bosque de la Vida. With 244 trees planted, our forest has already captured 31 tons of CO2 (from 2020 to January 2025), making a lasting environmental impact.
Your Impact
For just $10.50, you can plant 3 trees—enough to offset the carbon emissions from a round trip like ours per person (includes international flights, accommodations, and onsite transportation). Every tree planted promotes biodiversity, protects river basins, and supports regional economic development.
Though we won’t visit the Shosholoza Forest during this trip, we encourage your support. Let’s leave a legacy for both the planet and our AIESEC community!

This is a long-term project that will hopefully lead to a digital archive on our website (photos, documents)—the more comprehensive our collection, the better we can honor and preserve the AIESEC spirit.
