Over seventy alumni, AIESEC students and members of the AIESEC United States team gathered at the Nemati
Collection on Manhattan’s East Side for the 55th Anniversary Celebration on Monday, June 27. Thanks to the generous gifts of several alums, over $1,350 was contributed to the event to provide food, beverages, and in-kind prizes freely to the attendees. Darius Nemati, owner of the Nemati Collection and Emory alumnus, served as the gracious host , opening his gallery to create a party that enabled all to mingle and celebrate the great AIESEC heritage. The guest of honor , Irvin Barash (Columbia, 1963), shared memories from the early days of AIESEC United States and the exciting tales that accompanied his role as Reception Officer. Cathy Shelton, hub leader and event coordinator, shared that the event "had a great vibe" and that it was invigorating to be in the space of such a dynamic group of individuals that spanned all generations and cultures. So much so that the New York City hub held a second event (an international picnic in Central Park) less than two weeks later and had more than 40 people attend.Did you attend?
