Welcome Jennifer!
Jennifer Farley graduated from Purdue University where she was active with the local committee as a member of the public relations committee, Vice President of External Relations, and eventually Local Committee President from 1992 to 1993. She also served on the National Training Team as a leadership and development coach. Jennifer was fortunate to travel to numerous conferences within the U.S. and Canada and attended ENALDS in Turkey to wrap up her time at Purdue.
Immediately after graduation, Jennifer began a career as a public relations consultant and special event/conference planner in Indianapolis. She then became Public and Media Relations Coordinator for Clarian Health (now Indiana University Health) focusing on three separate hospitals’ PR needs and implementing crisis communication plans. Most recently, Jennifer has been involved in managing and fundraising for non-profit organizations and schools within her community, Orland Park, Illinois, where she raised her three sons and resides with her husband, a fellow AIESECer. Jennifer is the sister of AIESEC Life Team member, Tina Chung Hurley.
Tell us a little about your time in AIESEC / relevance in your life.
Jennifer: When I think about my college years, I think of AIESEC. When I think about my friends and family, I think of AIESEC. For many of us, AIESEC has proven time and time again that it is an organization that brings people together for life. The talent and drive that motivated us as young twenty-somethings are what still motivates us today in our everyday lives. While active at AIESEC-Purdue, I met an amazing group of people locally and from around the world who changed the way I approach every encounter and every challenge I meet. The life skills I gained over a mere four years have been relevant for the past 25 years and I have AIESEC to thank for that.
Why did you accept the job as Executive Director for AIESEC Life?
Jennifer: I accepted the position as Executive Director of AIESEC Life because I feel I am at a time in my life to give back to an organization that has given me so much. I am extremely motivated to collaborate with a talented team and Board of Directors to continue to sustain and move this organization in the right direction.
