An AMAZING weekend with AMAZING views and

even more AMAZING people.

Despite a few delayed flights and a little morning rain, the AIESEC Life Chicago Study Tour was a success. A beautiful opening evening reception began on the Chicago River, surrounded by the city’s most prominent buildings and downtown sights.

Our Saturday morning AIESEC update included AIESEC Life board member presentations as well as a welcome video from the new MC of AIESEC US.  Following, was an impressive walking architecture tour, led by our own Tina Chung Hurley who is a certified docent with the Chicago Architecture Foundation. The Art Institute, the Bean, Buckingham Fountain, Iconic Blues bars, Navy Pier, and the John Hancock building were just a few of the additional visits made by our delegates throughout the weekend.

A Chicago style pizza dinner and historic pub crawl led by AIESEC NIU and Northwestern BOA member, Sean Parnell rounded out the evening.

Goodbyes are tough, but with The Bean in our background we said farewell to each other at a Millennium Park picnic brunch. Thank you to the Organizing Committee led by Tina Chung Hurley and Mark Tomkins. What a wonderful weekend to reconnect with AIESEC, meet new people and enjoy Chicago!

Where will our study tours take us next?

MENTORSHIP IS A WRAP

The 2022 AIESEC Life Alumni Mentorship program ran from January to June 2022. We matched current AIESEC US students and recent grads to our alumni mentors. These matches are based on students selecting an alumni professional based on industry expertise, location, and overall profile that meets their needs. This is a unique program offered by the US alumni and has provided great counsel and keeps our alumni connected to the current AIESEC students, recent grads, and fellow alumni.

“Having a mentor to guide you will give you a lot of different perspectives.”

– Christopher Dehm, AIESEC Lueneburg, Germany

The program includes a conversation guide each month and it’s up to the mentee to make these meetings happen. This shows initiative and requires accountability. Topics included managing change, getting the most out of your AIESEC experience, leadership, and job interviewing. Participants had the opportunity to add topics of concern and interest throughout the six month program.

“Being able to give back and help launching a recent graduate's career is incredibly fulfilling.”

– Michael B Hansen, Frontier Wealth Strategies & AIESEC Life Board of Director

For the first time we invited current alumni to match to other alumni and we will continue to do so. We hope that more alumni will search our robust database and find someone in their profession or with experience they can tap into!
