On August 17, AIESEC lost a very special person and lifelong AIESECer.
Jerry Allison founded the local committee at Northern Illinois University in 1961. He actively sought out AIESEC US in New York to find out how to start an LC because he wanted to go on a traineeship to Lima, Peru.
But his passion for AIESEC didn’t stop there.
Jerry served on the Board of Advisors for multiple LCs, the 1997 International Congress advisory board and the AIESEC United States Board of Directors. He was a founding member of AIESEC Life and took over 50 AIESEC trainees into his own company, AJC, a $2 Billion dollar company located in Atlanta that feeds millions of people all around the world.
AIESEC took Jerry all over the globe, including accepting his AAI Alumni Award in Eastern Europe at the International Congress.
Jerry was an exceptional person, friend, leader, father, husband and entrepreneur. He was an active member of AIESEC Life, and enjoyed attending our annual retreats. At our most recent retreat held in Atlanta, Jerry’s presence and influence was felt throughout the weekend.
Jerry affected the lives of so many. His strength, passion and legacy will live on.
