The Monthly Look: May 2023 Issue 2

Dear AIESECers,

Out of curiosity, how many friends of yours are AIESECers? How close are you? Do you talk weekly? Monthly? Do you travel together? Catch up when in the same city? Reconnect at a football game? I've been thinking about this a lot recently and it's not because I just came back from an amazing reunion. It's because one of my college friends, an AIESECer, just lost his battle with cancer. I am sad and also a bit disappointed in myself for not keeping up with him as much as I should have. We all get busy. Life gets in the way.

It's a heartbreaking reminder of the value of our AIESEC relationships.

Let's not let time and distance get in the way. Reach out to those old AIESEC buddies you've been meaning to catch up with. You never know the joy and fulfillment it can bring to both of your lives. Plans are in motion, and the excitement is building! We are thrilled to announce the upcoming celebration to commemorate AIESEC's 75th Anniversary, and we want you to be a part of it. Taking place in Atlanta, GA, from October 13-15, 2023, this momentous event aims to bring together US and International alumni, current students, AIESEC US leadership, and friends. It's a time to reconnect, reminisce, and inspire the next generation of global leaders.

Imagine the joy of reconnecting with old friends and peers, sharing laughter, and reliving cherished memories from your time in AIESEC. Our celebration provides the perfect setting to reunite and strengthen those bonds that have shaped who we are today. It's an opportunity to socialize, reminisce, and build new connections that can last a lifetime.

Beyond the nostalgia, this event holds a deeper purpose—to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders. We are thrilled that our event coincides with AIESEC US' Fall Conference, where the future leaders of AIESEC gather. Current students will have the chance to learn from seasoned alumni through conference training sessions and panels. This mentorship opportunity will nurture their skills, broaden their perspectives, and equip them to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

The weekend will include social activities, a visit or two to some well-known Atlanta "must-sees" and of course, our Celebration Dinner which will be held on Saturday, October 14.
