Alumni Spotlight:  Vardaan Vasisht
A Passion for Start-Ups & Innovation

Vardaan joined AIESEC in 1996 in his hometown of Chandigarh, India where he did his undergrad in business management. AIESEC was the only organization at the time in the city that offered an opportunity to meet people from other parts of the world and the possibility of an international experience through its traineeship program. According to Vardaan, “During that time, it wasn’t very common to travel out of your country.  Certainly, coming from a middle-class family, we did not have the resources to send me abroad.”

Servas:  World Peace, One Conversation at a Time

Have you ever wanted to take your international AIESEC travel experience one step further?  Consider joining Servas US, recognized by the U.N. as an official affiliated non-governmental organization. Like AIESEC, Servas was founded in 1948 as an expression of concern over the social turmoil caused by WWII. Servas is a network of hosts and travelers of all ages and walks of life. As a host, you can share your home, your daily life and personal perspectives. As a traveler, you can begin lifelong friendships and open a doorway into deeper understanding of another culture.

AIESEC Life alumni, Allen and Ann Kone, have been Servas hosts for three years and said, "Servas members are enthusiastic world travelers. Like AIESEC alums, they are outgoing and hold an expansive world view. They are curious and generous -- inviting folks they've never met into their homes and lives."

Servas is a cooperative cultural exchange network of travelers and hosts working together to foster peace, goodwill and mutual respect.  Sounds a lot like AIESEC!  Click here to learn more.
