As I sit down to reflect on my recent journey to Bogotá, Colombia, to attend the AMCO conference, I am filled with a sense of awe and gratitude. This remarkable experience marked not only my first international conference but also a transformative chapter in my personal and professional growth journey. AMCO, with its diverse representation from local committees spanning the vast expanse of the Americas, provided a platform for cross-cultural exchange and collaborative learning that left an indelible mark on my perspective. 

The conference hall was filled with energy as I engaged with local committee presidents from Canada to Chile, from the heart of the United States to the vibrant corners of South America. Each interaction was an opportunity to delve into the rich tapestry of cultural nuances, leadership styles, and innovative problem-solving approaches. From the bustling streets of New York City to the serene landscapes of rural Colombia, I found common ground with fellow delegates who shared a passion for effecting positive change in their communities. 

One of the most profound lessons I learned from the conference was the importance of embracing diversity as a catalyst for growth and innovation. In a world increasingly interconnected yet marred by division, AMCO served as a beacon of hope, fostering an environment where differences were celebrated and collaboration flourished. I witnessed firsthand how embracing diverse perspectives can lead to more robust solutions and inclusive decision-making processes, a lesson I am eager to apply within my own local committee. 

Moreover, AMCO served as a catalyst for self-discovery and introspection. As an international student navigating unfamiliar terrain, the conference provided me with a sense of belonging and purpose. I realized the immense value of stepping outside my comfort zone, of challenging preconceived notions, and of embracing the unknown with an open mind and heart. The scholarship that enabled my participation in AMCO holds profound significance, not only as a financial support but as a symbol of recognition and belief in my potential to effect positive change. 

In the days following my return from Bogotá, I find myself filled with renewed vigor and determination. Armed with the knowledge, insights, and connections forged at AMCO, I am committed to propelling my local committee to new heights of success. I am confident that by harnessing the power of diversity, fostering a culture of inclusivity, and leading with empathy and integrity, we can overcome any challenge that lies ahead. 

As I look towards the future, I am filled with optimism and excitement for the journey ahead.
