The AIESEC Life Connection: May 2024

Published on May 22, 2024

Dear AIESEC Alumni,

Have you ever thought about where you’d be without AIESEC? It's a question that often brings up memories and gratitude for all the incredible experiences and connections we've gained.

How has AIESEC, our global youth-led organization, shaped your personal and professional journey? From leadership development programs to global internships and volunteer opportunities, AIESEC has been pivotal in fostering cross-cultural understanding and honing skills among young people.

Looking back, I can confidently say that without AIESEC, many of us might have missed out on some life-changing global and leadership experiences. Our worldviews and personal values may be different. As AIESECers we share common traits, worldviews, and personal values. Through AIESEC Life, the US Alumni Association, we’re dedicated to reconnecting alumni and supporting AIESEC United States. To do this, we need your support as paid members.

Think about the impact AIESEC has had on your life, and consider joining our alumni association as a Premium Member today. For just the cost of 4 Chipotle Burrito Bowls, you can be a Premium Member for 2 years and help sustain and grow our programs for future generations.

So, where would YOU be without AIESEC? Show your appreciation for only $50 for 2 YEARS!!!

With gratitude,

Jennifer Farley, Executive Director

Mix & Mingle

This past spring brought many opportunities for our community to gather in-person and online. Thank you to those who organized events in your local communities! We are grateful for your contribution to our alumni association.

Atlanta: What a fabulous evening in Alpharetta that featured our very own AIESECer by marriage, musician Lee Gamble. The event was an ideal blend of music and camaraderie, bringing together members old and new.

Bay Area: On the other coast, the Bay Area alumni learned how to blend the perfect glass of wine at Page Mill Winery in Livermore, CA. It was a day of learning, laughter, and of course, great wine.

D.C.: Most recently, a large group got together in Dupont Circle in DC and reconnected with all generations of AIESECers! They had such a great time that they already planned their next event!

Upcoming events are happening this summer in Minnesota, Chicago, San Jose and of course the annual Central Park Picnic in NYC! We are on the hunt for others to host picnics, hikes, service projects or BBQs this summer in a city near YOU. Please reach out to us and we will assist you to make it happen (registration, promotion, etc.)

The Global Connection

AIESEC US to Send FIVE Students on Exchange

Submitted by Abby Lemma, MCP, AIESEC United States

The very low number of exchanges underscores the urgent need to reignite the essence of AIESEC - Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind's Potential through cross-cultural exchange. That's why we've launched the Legacy Fund IXP Campaign

From now until June 30, the Legacy Fund campaign hopes to support five of our amazing members on a life-changing Global Volunteer Exchange! But we can't do it alone. We need your support. Your donation will directly contribute to covering the flight costs and exchange fees, enabling them to make a difference on a global scale.

Our goal is to raise $7,500 to fully support these dedicated members!

Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to achieving this milestone and empowering our members to create positive change in communities around the world.

By supporting this campaign, you're not just investing in our members; you're investing in the future of AIESEC in the US.

Thank you for your support and generosity!
