Maui Study Tour Enjoys Whale Watching, Snorkeling and Giving BACK This year’s travel crew of 12 AIESEC alumni (with prior traineeship experiences spanning 18 countries!) and their guests crossed the globe to Maui, Hawaii for AIESEC Life’s 4th Study Tour! Organized by alumni Cynthia Wong, the group was treated to an immersive experience living "aloha" as they explored different corners of the island and sea while supporting local businesses and volunteering at a nonprofit. Thank you to all that donated generously to the Maui service project. AIESEC Life members helped The Maui Farm establish the foundation of their new Garden of Hope. This portion of their property is dedicated to housing women and their children, otherwise homeless from domestic violence situations and helps them get back on their feet. The 2023 study tour adventure enjoyed the morning with baby goats, giving back, and surprising them with a $1300 check from AIESEC Life! Study Tour participants stayed beachfront, and were able to jump in the water to snorkel with turtles and enjoyed a fun luau evening with a few even attempting to hula! In peak whale season, the crew was treated to plenty of whales and a rare couple of dolphins on their whale watch rafting adventure as well as plenty more turtles, reef sharks, and a rainbow while snorkeling! The tour also enjoyed a private cooking session with a top local chefpreneur, a hands-on sea-to-table lobster breakdown, and a Hawaiian grilled shrimp feast. They capped it off by stopping by a local kava bar to enjoy the native kava root drink and meeting a local excited to share his childhood ohana family rituals. Delegates also stretched and recharged with a morning aloha-inspired yoga session with tour organizer Cynthia, explored a historic town with the oldest banyan tree on Maui, and hiked a coastal trail enjoying views of spectacular black rock formations. Local delicacies included farm-to-table and sea-to-table eateries and several local breweries. Just like the good ol’ AIESEC days, the group enjoyed culture and fun with plenty of laughs and local immersion. Stay tuned for our next Study Tour!

On February 23rd we held our first Cocktails & Conversation! What a joy it was to see so many new faces and hear some amazing tales! We had AIESECers from Nigeria, Singapore, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, NYC, San Diego, Oregon and Dallas laughing and reminiscing together. As we embark on AIESEC’s 75th year, it is our duty to reflect on our past, celebrate our stories of impact and dream about the future of our organization.

When people look back at their AIESEC experiences, one thing always comes to mind; the memories, stories and connections they made through AIESEC.

Let’s unite as an organization to amplify our stories and showcase 75 Years of Vivid Leadership!
